What are Pallets?

Commonly we have customers that do not know what pallets are. A pallet sometimes is referred to as a skid, it is a flat transport structure that is usually made out of wood, plastic or metal to supports goods in a stable fashion while being lifted by a forklift, pallet jack, front loader or other jacking device. Machinery is sometimes bolted down to pallets to keep them secure and in place. WHen boxes are stacked on a pallet they are frequently secured with shrink wrap or stretch wrap to keep everything in place. Shipping freight on a pallet often ensures that your goods will arrive safely, and it allows you to take advantage of cheaper shipping options because it simplifies the loading and unloading process. If you have the opportunity to use pallets, you should always do so as this will definitely lower your shipping costs.
